As if anyone needed another reason besides the end of the school year, the warmer weather, or the oncoming of summer to look forward to May. Next month will see a slew of hotly anticipated albums finally drop, with several weeks having multiple high caliber releases on the same day. Undoubtedly, many people’s pocketbooks will take a hit. However, with the potential that all these albums have, it just might be worth it.
May 4:
Broken Social Scene: Forgiveness Rock Record
The Hold Steady: Heaven Is Whenever
The New Pornographers: Together
May 11:
The National: High Violet
Sleigh Bells: Treats
(Note: Not this is not the album cover. It’s a photo from the band’s MySpace)
Woods: At Echo Lake
May 18:
Band of Horses: Infinite Arms
LCD Soundsystem: This Is Happening
May 25:
Beach Fossils: Beach Fossils
And these are only albums that are being talked about a lot. There are sure to be some surprise albums that come out of nowhere and make a splash. It’s looking to be a good month!
